Glasstic在2011年開始設計，因發現到當時市場上需要高品質且可攜帶的飲料瓶，因為人們越來越重視塑化材質會釋放有害的化學物質。可是當時攜帶用水瓶的趨勢主要是以金屬來取代塑膠材質，但我們覺得金屬製的水瓶仍非最終的好材質，但當時市場上沒太多的選擇。
然而，我們相信水瓶的最佳材質應該是玻璃，但是我們也認知到理想的水瓶應該是要滿足容易被攜帶、防破、防碎片傷人、且材質應無BPA或毒物成份、具有安全的攜帶性等條件。簡單說，就是要一支不必讓人擔憂的玻璃水瓶。
事情的過程是，因早先我們銷售營養補充品時，也販售水瓶，但我們不滿意塑膠製的瓶子，我們知道塑膠的化學物質如BPA是不好的，而其它選擇只有金屬或不同的塑化材質，這些都讓我們有所擔心。所以，剛開始我們製造出的玻璃水瓶會套上矽膠的瓶套，如同當時另一家同業的做法。但，我們仍覺得這不是完美的解決方式，所以我們又嘗試其它方法。希望做到可以有玻璃的好與純淨，又擁有塑膠的易攜帶與不易破的特性，這是我們前瞻的思維。接著，我們便著手設計心目中理想的水瓶，這支瓶子有滑溜的外表，非常的機能性與簡潔的設計，讓人們使用容易，並在生活中很舒適的使用。輕鬆拆卸各部件與清洗，對我們來說，也是重要的。最終的目標，是提供人們一支安全的玻璃水瓶，使得它可以在以往禁止使用玻璃的場所，也能夠被大方的使用。因著這個理念，就誕生了具安全防護概念的Glasstic玻璃水瓶。

How Glasstic was born?

‘We began to develop the GLASStic bottle over two years ago, 2011, when we saw a need in the market for high quality/pure YET portable beverage containers. The portable water bottle market had begun to replace plastic bottles with metal ones due to increasing concern of harmful chemicals leaching from the plastic bottles. In spite of this trend, we felt that metal bottles were not what people were ultimately wanting but there were not many alternatives...
We knew the ultimate water bottle had to be made of glass. Yet we also know we had to make a glass bottle that was portable, break resistant, shatterproof, BPA free, toxin free and safe over-all to carry into public places. In other words, a worry-free glass water bottle...
What happened was we were selling nutritional supplements and we sold water bottles. We didn’t like that the bottles were plastic, we knew BPA was bad and that the alternatives were all metal or other types of plastic had other possible issues that caused us concern. We started making a glass bottle and protecting it with Silicone like 1 other company was doing at the time but we thought this was not the best overall design and so we looked to make a new type of glass bottle, one that had the best aspect of glass, purity, and the best aspect of plastic, portability without much worry of breakage. This is how we envisioned the solution. We then just designed it to meet what we felt was a good ideal, sleek sides and a very functional and simple design so that people would understand it easily and feel comfortable adapting it to their lifestyle. Ease of taking apart and cleaning all the pieces is important to us. Our overall goal was to provide a glass bottle that felt safe and could be taken most places that glass is typically not allowed. This was how Glasstic was born.
